Membership

The annual membership fee is based on the size of each individual farm. The fee is invoiced quarterly to ensure that members make their savings before paying the group.

Agrochemicals

On joining Derwent Buyers Group members will benefit of savings up to 30% on agrochemicals.

We aim to achieve maximum independence for our members and being in control of your own purchases allows you the freedom to purchase as and when you require. Orders are placed directly with suppliers and members are invoiced direct. The group takes no percentage cut from any purchase made, and the price on our list is the price you pay.

By combining the buying power of farms within our membership we are able to source the most competitive quotations on your behalf.

Our network of suppliers ensures a wealth of information, and members are informed well in advance of market activity. Supply and delivery from each of our suppliers is excellent.

Our comprehensive price list is held on computer and can be updated at any time with all information being passed on to members immediately.

Price lists can be received by e-mail, fax or post – it’s up to you as to how and when you receive information.

Confidentiality is the key feature of our success. Quotations are not discussed outside the membership of the buying group. This has resulted in a build up of trust within our suppliers and has led to excellent trading relationships.

A full ordering service is available to all members.

Fertilisers

Fertiliser prices can be sourced specifically for each individual member. Information is forwarded to all members giving everyone the opportunity of staying up to date with current market activity.

The fertiliser market can change everyday and our network ensures that the latest information can be forwarded on a daily basis. This allows every member the opportunity to access special deals.

As with agrochemicals members are invoiced direct from the supplier with no percentage cut to the group.


Seed

A full and comprehensive seed quotation service is provided with prices sourced for individual requirements. Information is forwarded to all members on a regular basis allowing everyone access to current seed market activity.


Fuel

Fuel prices are sourced on a weekly basis with information being forwarded to members immediately.

Members wishing to use this service will receive a fuel quotation sheet giving a price per litre, per volume each week.

The fuel market is extremely volatile, yet we are able to successfully obtain competitive quotations providing a good average on a weekly basis. The convenience of receiving fuel quotations in this way saves both time and money.


Power

The group is also able to provide quotations for the supply of electricity and gas. Members need to submit an invoice for each meter that they have on the farm. The group has been able to obtain special rates that would normally be restricted to businesses with over 20 meters. Savings of up to 30% have been made.

Because the group acts as an agent to a broker, we can take care of all the paperwork and hassle. The group also obtains the best price for the member and not the supplier who pays the highest commission to the broker.
